This guy owns half of the worlds media outlets, not exact figures but probably not far off, ranging from book publishers to TV networks and now he wants more, more money, more control. So unfortunately for him, just as a big deal buy Sky TV is going through a huge scandal breaks, was it bad luck or was it a monopoly angel intervening? Apparently the conservatives said it was ok for the deal to go through as long as it excluding Sky News, and it was going to happen, but luckily for the world, some naughty journo’s have been hacking people’s voicemail accounts in the name of Murdoch.

Maybe we’re over reacting, maybe Murdoch would bring a wonderful culture and amazing innovations, to BSkyB, then again maybe not. Maybe there should be a referendum and the public could decide, isn’t that what this whole democracy is for?
